Stabillity Cross Hexagram Meditation

To act effectively in a various situations

You need to be present in your life (be “on”) and freely exchange energy with the world, with the Universe. What could be stopping this? For example, “excluding oneself from the world,” is when a person perceives himself not as an active participant in events, but as an outside observer. They “turn us off” from the world with phrases like “you don’t deserve it,” “this is not for people like you,” “nothing depends on you,” “you don’t decide anything,” etc. Perhaps they were instilled in us in childhood – and we still by default believe that this is the case. Accordingly, the energy of situations (and life itself) seems to flow past us and does not bring us fruit. Stabillity Cross Hexagram Meditation can fix the described “bug” (and many other “bugs” that prevent you from living life to the fullest) .

The Cross of Stability

Is the six gates of our energetic communication with the Universe, and our interaction with people and situations. These gates are located around our body and “look” in all directions of the world: up, down, right, left, forward, and backward. Perceiving ourselves in the cross of stability, we “turn on” and create a volumetric corridor of energy that enriches the current situation for us in the right way. It’s as if a signal sounds in the Universe about our harmonious presence in this situation, in this time and space – and events begin to develop in the most favorable way for us.

Hexagram Gates I Ching
  • The “Earth Gate” located under our feet, connect us with “Mother Earth”, providing support and a foundation, giving us the ability to stand firm in a situation or step forward.
  • The “Gate of Heaven” located above our head, connect us with the “Father Sky”, allowing us to perceive new things and navigate the world.
  • In front of us is the “Gate of Intention”, since the body has a natural ease of moving forward and all our sensory organs are tuned to this.
  • Behind us is the “Gate of Experience”: when we fear something or try to avoid it, we instinctively lean back to our life experience.
  • The “Gate of the Past” to our left is our connection with the past, from where we emerged and originated (“softness-heart”).
  • The “Gate of the Future” to our right is our connection with the future, where we enter and manifest ourselves (“determination-liver”).

Energy Gates

Energy can flow through any gate either from us to the Universe (the gate operates on “output” – this corresponds to the Yang sign) or from the Universe to us (the gate operates on “input” – this corresponds to the Yin sign). If we denote the state of the gates with monograms, we get a set of six monograms around the body, i.e., a familiar hexagram to us – but not flat, unfolded in three-dimensional space.

IMPORTANT: at any given moment, each of the six gates is either in the Yin or Yang state, there cannot be two states at the same time in this method of perception.

And now, the most interesting part. Upon seeing a hexagram in divination, we can read it as a message from the Universe to us: which gates in the given situation should be kept open for “input,” and which for “output.”

Hexagram examples

For example, in hexagram #1 “Persistence” all lines are Yang—meaning all gates are oriented towards “output” that is, energy is going from us into the situation.

Conversely, the next hexagram #2 “Receptiveness” all lines are Yin—meaning all gates are working on “input” that is, energy is coming from the situation to us.

The remaining sixty-two hexagrams, there are combinations of Yang and Yin lines, indicating an exchange of energies at different levels between us and the situation.

How to determine which feature of the hexagram to place in which gate?

  • Into the first gate, the “Earth Gate” we always place the first-lower line of the hexagram.
  • Into the sixth gate, the “Heaven Gate” we always place the sixth-upper line of the hexagram.

The placement of the remaining lines depends on whether we plan to act actively (we initiate the situation) or passively (we adapt to the existing situation).

Let’s assume we are active. Then, in the “Gate of the Past” (to our left), we place the second line of the hexagram, and in the “Gate of the Future” (to our right), the fifth line. In the “Gate of Experience” (behind us), we place the third line, and in the “Gate of Intention” (in front of us), the fourth line.

Now, let’s consider when we are passive. Since we are not acting on our own initiative but simply drifting with the current of life from the past to the future (or life drags us along, and here it’s a matter of luck). Thus, the pair of gates “past-future” begins to dominate over the pair of “experience-intention”. So, they essentially swap places with each other. Now, in the “Gate of Experience” (behind us), we place the second line, and in the “Gate of Intention” (in front of us), the fifth line. In the “Gate of the Past” (to our left), we place the third line of the hexagram, and in the “Gate of the Future” (to our right), the fourth line.

Let’s take hexagram #63 “Completion” ䷿ for illustration.

Hexagram Gates 63 Passive

You’re “active”:

Hexagram Gates 63 Active

You’re “passive”:

In both positions, we rely on the Earth (1st line), and a Yang line speaks of emitting force-energy into the situation. Simply put, you have “Earth” under your feet for moving forward. Also, in both cases, in the Heaven Gates (6th line), there is a Yin line, which says that you need to receive force-energy from the situation. Simply put, you’re seeking “Heaven,” you don’t have it on your own. The remaining lines vary depending on the “activity” or “passivity” as described above.
