Zhun is the first sign where strong and weak lines meet within one hexagram body: after the two pure states of Heaven and Earth, their interaction begins — and it begins with difficulty. Below stands Zhen, Arousal: a push, a movement just waking up. Above is Kan, the Abyss: the danger this movement must pass through. Hence the character of the sign — the impulse is already born, but the surroundings have not yet parted, and every effort is spent overcoming the inertia of the previous state.
The aphorism promises development, yet hedges it with conditions. First, hold the chosen course. Second, do not rush to act: haste at this stage damages more than any external obstacle.
Third, place helpers at your side in advance; the old formula about appointing vassals reads plainly — at the start, allies matter more than feats. In terms of knowledge, the sign describes the first moment of a thought still moving under the cover of the unknown, and therefore in need of support. Difficulty here is not a malfunction but the normal property of every beginning.

In such a situation, it is difficult to move forward, it is better to wait out the storm in a shelter. But one should not relax and drift along, as the weather will eventually change and it will be necessary to act again. It would be wise to prepare for the further journey, carefully observing what is happening, not overlooking details and nuances.
This is a period when new situations and connections will spontaneously arise, so energy should be directed towards preparation and planning of one’s actions based on the changing environment. Firmly stick to the chosen path, do not allow difficulties and obstacles to break your will and change the decision made. As soon as the opportunity to move on presents itself – act without hesitation. The right moment will come, accumulate strength, seek allies, strengthen friendships, professional and kinship ties. Support will not be superfluous.
