The time has come to begin great endeavors! Strengthen connections with others, moving towards a shared goal.

Hexagram Structure
Everything stored up in the quiet of the previous situation comes into movement here: what was gathered in humility spills from inside outward, and a new cycle of development begins. The peculiarity of the sign is that nothing limits this force from outside — and there lies its main danger. Freedom without bounds degenerates into chaos, so the bound has to come from within: the actor chooses a law for themselves, the way a free craftsman sets the rules of their own work — otherwise arbitrariness takes the place of harmony. The aphorism speaks in the language of its age, the age of domains and campaigns: the time suits the securing of power and wide outward action, and the stored-up might is ripe for use. The second condition is vigilance. There is a law that cannot be repealed: the moment flowering reaches fullness, decline sets in. That is why self-limitation works in both directions — affirming what is fit while overcoming what is unfit, before it grows strong.
How It Works in Practice
Good fortune is on its way: the dawn has not broken yet, but the horizon is already noticeably lighter, and it is a matter of the near future. New designs have good chances now — the period supports fresh undertakings rather than the finishing of old ones. It also favours games and contests: wherever nerve and quick reaction are needed, you are in a winning position.
The festive side of life is within its rights too: the time favours amusements, and there is no need to deny yourself them. But the measure is obligatory — merriment beyond it eats up both money and condition. On the budget separately: do not spend more than you take in. This rule is stricter than usual right now, because the anticipation of success is easily confused with success itself, and nothing is spent more readily than what is charged against the future.
The wish will be fulfilled, though not instantly — a little more waiting lies ahead. It is more sensible to fill the wait with preparation: success that is already gathering is better met in working condition than caught off guard.
And finally — watch where you step. On an upswing it is easiest to get bogged down in trifles and bare calculation, and it is exactly those that can eat the whole gain of the period unnoticed, step by step. Large good fortune comes to those who do not trade it for pettiness and do not haggle with it over nothing.
Traditional Description
Above is the trigram Zhen (Thunder), below is the trigram Kun (Earth). The metaphorical image of this hexagram is the peal of spring thunder in the boundless sky, signaling it’s time for active actions, move forward. The impulse given by the thunderclap stimulates the movement of energy in Nature, all processes on earth are set in motion. The first spring storm as if shakes nature and discharges long-accumulated tension. Thunder brings joy and relief after a period of stagnation and calm.
The energy of Thunder is free and unpredictable, the energy of Earth is stable and provides the necessary support, helps in the realization of those life aspirations that were activated under the influence of Thunder.
This hexagram speaks of the beginning of a large and significant event, competition, major project. Preparation has been successfully completed and it is time to achieve results. However, it is difficult to achieve success alone, so the I Ching says: ‘benefit in establishing fiefs (enthroning feudal lords)’. The second idea – benefit in actions by troops – also emphasizes the need to act together, establishing and strengthening connections with other people, moving towards a shared goal.
Yu predicts success in case of active actions and moving forward, but cautions – any new volume or new situation means more responsibility not only towards oneself but also towards your like-minded people. Do not get too carried away by your role, remember that the conductor and his orchestra are a single and indivisible whole, which can only create music together and in harmony.nnnnn

The finale: freedom darkens, losing its link with reality. The movement still goes on by inertia — there will be excess in the becoming — but what feeds it is no longer a living matter, rather detached constructions: schemes, fantasies, mental structures in the place of practice. No misfortune will come of it, and the reason is not that the position is good but that the situation is exhausted in a natural way and is already flowing into the next. The fading here is a form of completion, not a catastrophe.

The position lies above the main impulse — and that is already excess. The steadfastness the sign valued on the second step is overheld here: deprived of flexibility, it turns into a source of an ailing condition, into unfreedom instead of support. A complete collapse still will not happen — the centrality of the position saves it: what is constant in a person does not die, the core survives. But the condition itself is precisely an ailing one. A strength that cannot let go begins to destroy the one who carries it.

The main line of the sign: freedom finally comes out — and comes out from prepared ground, from stored-up quiet and tested steadfastness. All the forces of the situation group around this impulse; allies and friends gather of themselves, without being summoned. The largest thing is available — that very possession of the great — and doubts are out of place now, not out of bravado: an uncertain centre is the one thing able to upset a movement that has already come together. Whoever has become the axle is obliged to hold their confidence.

The crisis of the passage from quiet to action. Freedom is already so close that it blocks out everything else, including the need for self-limitation: a person stares at the coming liberty as at a shop window and misses the moment. Hence two regrets one after another — for the staring itself and for the delay that grew out of it. The logic of the step is simple: everything around is already moving, and any hold-up means falling behind. The reckoning for it comes not from fate but from the calendar.

The inner support of the whole sign: amid the general excitement, a concentrated stillness. A motionless observer sees movement more exactly than those moving, because the perspective is not distorted by their own running. Truth is grasped instantly here, and there is no need to wait until the end of the day — the decision ripens before the situation takes shape for everyone else, and foresight becomes ordinary sight. The firmness of this step is harder than stone, but it is the firmness of clarity, not of obstinacy. Such steadfastness leads straight to good fortune.

A weak beginning: there is not yet strength of one's own for independent action, and a person merely echoes the freedom of others — picking up someone else's upsurge, building nothing within. The step's verdict is severe: misfortune. The trouble is not the modest place — little is demanded from the lowest position — but the substitution: instead of work on oneself there sounds an echo of other voices, and self-cultivation is replaced by agreeing with leaders. Dependence presented as participation leads to nothing good in this situation.
Taken together, the six steps outline the conditions under which freedom stays fruitful. It needs a strength of its own rather than an echo of someone else's; the inner quiet that gives the gaze its accuracy; resolve without delay; prepared ground beneath the main impulse; the flexibility without which steadfastness degenerates into illness; the sobriety that holds one back from retreating into empty abstractions. Freedom that has passed all these tests creates equality and joy around itself — the medium out of which the next situation grows, Following.
